Candle Care

How to care for your little potion

A few simple rituals keep your candle burning clean, even and delicious down to the last drop of wax.

The first burn matters most

Let your candle burn until the melted wax reaches the edges of the jar, usually 2 to 3 hours. This stops tunneling and helps it burn evenly every time after.

Trim the wick

Before every burn, trim the wick to about 1/4 inch. A short wick means a steady flame, less soot and a cleaner scent throw.

Don't overdo it

Burn for no more than 4 hours at a time. Then blow it out, let it cool completely and trim before relighting.

Keep it safe

  • Never leave a burning candle unattended.
  • Keep it away from pets, kids, drafts and anything flammable.
  • Place it on a heat-safe surface.
  • Stop burning when about 1/2 inch of wax is left.

Give the jar a second life

Once it's done, pop the jar in the freezer for a few hours, remove the leftover wax, wash it with warm soapy water, and use it for trinkets, herbs or tiny treasures. ✨
